Police Station
I see the police station not only as such, but rather as a place of passage, where people will seek solutions to their problems. Its a transition and orientation place, for both, the general public and the prisoner. Consequently, I seek to bring the public closer so that they do not feel intimidated by an institution of this class. The public should recognize the building as an element of the community, not like an exaggeration that stands out from the existing urban situation.
These concepts of communication and unity, are reflected in the program of the project. Two different blocks of functions that need to be related without invading each other. And the least invasive solution, is to play with the user's gaze.
For this reason, I wanted to incorporate this quality inside the building by making a great gap, where the programs lead at different levels. All as a search to generate awareness of what happens on the other side, but without having to occupy that apace.
Its this intercross what I wanted to reflect in the project. The look, the communication.
